Tips from the Pro— Why Newer is Better

If you play golf multiple times a week, you should change out your driver every four years minimum…why?

Newer drivers have larger sweet spots than older drivers. Newer drivers help improve ball speed and have thinner faces which produce longer drives. Newer drivers have repositioned the weight to maximize ball speeds while decreasing spin, creating the perfect balance between carry trajectory and maximized roll. Large golf companies such as Taylor Made, Callaway, Ping and Cobra use artificial intelligence and thousands of golfers of all levels to test their new equipment designs before they are launched. AI helps produce better performing drivers, year after year.

Variable face thickness is an improvement being added to drivers with newer technology. More variable face thickness leads to a better smash factor and a large bounce off the face which helps with distance. It also helps maximize distance on mishits off the heel, toe or high on the club-face.

New technology in drivers can include improved head speeds due to the use of carbon in the club-head; so you can swing the club faster, and with an increased moment of inertia so the club won’t twist at impact.

The Taylor Made Qi4D Drivers boast the most carbon of any club in the market.

The Cobra OPTM features optimized MOI (Moment of Inertia) and POI (Products of Inertia) for the best mix of accuracy and distance in the market.

The Callaway Quantum pairs Tri-Force Face with next-gen Ai-optimized face mapping to deliver high launch, a slight draw bias, and powerful speed — all without sacrificing control.

The PING G440K boasts a record-setting MOI for a PING driver making the G440 K their straightest and most forgiving model while delivering faster ball speeds and CG-shifting adjustability for more distance. A lower and deeper CG position is achieved through weight savings from its carbon crown and sole, delivering ball-speed gains and the record-setting MOI that leads to longer and straighter results.

These are all examples of the new technology that has made 2026 drivers the best ever!

New drivers are also adjustable, allowing you to adjust the hosel so you can adjust the loft, lie and face angle of the club. This enables you to hit the ball with a higher or lower trajectory as well as add more of a draw or fade to your shots. The newer the driver, usually the more customizable it is.

New drivers also are lighter, more aerodynamic and can have extremely lightweight 35-45 grams shafts; all helping the golfer create higher club speeds which translates to more distance.

So if your driver is more than 4 years old, you need to try a new driver and see for yourself the increased distance and performance you can achieve.

Come and try the new Cobra OPTM, Callaway Quantum, PING G440K, and Taylor Made QI4D… with 35-gram, 40-gram and 50-gram shafts for maximum potential club speed and distance.
