Golfers are resilient folks, cheerful in the event of bad holes or setbacks of any kind. As the rain showers continued, we quickly rescheduled our Handicap Tournament championship from May 28 to June 4. Despite the soggy weather, our monthly birthday celebration went on as planned. Our friendships are just as important as golf and the cake was scrumptious. A big thank you to our tournament chairs – Millie-Anne Schwerin and Camille Giuliodibari – who have calmly managed through team play scheduling conflicts and a rainout!
Next big event: This year’s Whimsical Invitational, an anything Disney theme, opens with Goofy’s Derby horse race on Wednesday, June 17. Goofy’s Derby will be followed by Ratatouille’s Kitchen party at The Gazebo, and then a two-day golf tournament on Thursday and Friday, June 18 and 19. If you’ve signed up for the invitational, be ready for a Whimsical Good Time!
More fun events: June 11 is Guest Day when members get to show off our wonderful course to friends outside the Villages. June 25 is the new date for our Captain’s Trophy competition.
