It was a cold and chilly Tuesday, but we still had 58 women show up to play. There were a lot of great scores despite the weather. I think the camaraderie is what keeps most of us coming back. Cheering on someone in your foursome for an amazing shot or consoling them after a frustrating hole is what makes playing in this group so much fun for me. Let’s remember why we are out here — to encourage and support each and every one of us.

With that being said, it is also important that we score accurately. Since this is a competition, we want to make sure the winners are correct. It is good practice to state what you are lying when you reach the green. It is much easier to recreate your shots to the green than it is after everyone has finished putting. It is all of our responsibility to make sure the scores we turn in are accurate.

We also need to remember to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, treat the course with care, and maintain a positive attitude no matter the challenges we may face during our round. After all, golf is not just about winning or perfecting your swing; it’s about appreciating the beauty of the game, the friendships forged on the fairways, and the personal growth that comes with each round.
