Celia Schiffner returned Tuesday, June 2 after a long absence. It was nice to have her back. Several of our members have been away for quite some time, and we are ready to welcome them back whenever they’re ready to pick up their clubs again and enjoy the outdoors, the social time, and yes, even the frustrations of the game.
Our June Captain’s Trophy winner was Marie Colaizzi with a net 19. Marie joined us in 2025 after taking lessons from The Villages’ pros. She had never played golf before—look at her now. It was Marie’s day as she won first place in her flight, got a birdie and won the pre-game putting for pesos contest.
Judy Rogers shot 36, earning her the low gross trophy. She also won it last month. As our lowest-handicap player, Judy keeps getting better. Her hard work and practice are paying off.
