Tuesday, June 23 was a wonderful day for golf. The weather was perfect; we had 80 ladies playing and our lunch was a celebration of 12 Past Captains of the group. We celebrated these amazing women who raised their hand when asked to serve the group suggests the importance of helping our organization going forward.
Our golf group thrives because of the people who are willing to contribute, not just participate. Volunteering—whether it is organizing tee times, welcoming new members, coordinating events, keeping scores, communicating updates, or helping with tournaments—makes a real difference.
When more members volunteer:
The workload is shared, so not one person carries all the responsibility.
New ideas and fresh perspectives help the group grow and improve.
Events run more smoothly and become more enjoyable for everyone.
Members build stronger friendships and a greater sense of community.
The group becomes more sustainable, continuing to thrive for years to come.
Even small contributions matter. You do not have to take on a leading role to make an impact. Offering an hour of your time, helping with a single event, or volunteering for a specific task can lighten the load and strengthen the entire group.
