In a few days, our nation reaches a remarkable milestone—the 250th birthday of the United States of America. This historic anniversary gives us the opportunity to celebrate not only our country’s founding but also the enduring spirit of freedom, resilience, and unity that has defined America for two and a half centuries.
The 250th birthday is more than just fireworks, parades, and patriotic songs. It is a chance to reflect on the countless individuals who have contributed to our nation’s story—our veterans, teachers, first responders, volunteers, community leaders, and everyday citizens who quietly make a difference. It is also an opportunity to inspire the next generation to appreciate the freedoms they enjoy and to continue building a brighter future.
Across the country, communities are celebrating, and the 18 Hole Women’s Golf group is no exception as the board dressed in Red/White/Blue for our General Meeting on July 2. There was a vote on By-Law changes, an acknowledgement of a Hole-in-One by Renee Woolard on Hole number 11 on June 28, and the announcement of our Captain’s Trophy winner for July. Congratulations Mary Wagle with a net 66, and our Low Putt Champ for the month, Debbie Moore, with 28 putts.
Let’s continue to celebrate our great country as well as the 58th anniversary of the Villages, realizing how fortunate we are to live and golf here.
