At the June 12, 2026, Organizational Meeting, the Club Board of Directors approved providing member notice of proposed revisions to Club Policy CPo 102 – VGCC Board of Directors’ Code of Conduct. The proposed revisions will be considered for adoption at the July 28, 2026, monthly meeting.
Members may provide comments on the proposed revisions by one or more of the following methods:
1) Participation in the discussion of this item at the July 28, 2026, Board Meeting when the proposed policy is considered for adoption;
2) Submit comments by e-mail to (boardservices@the-villages.com), address to the Office of the General Manager, at least seven (7) days prior to the Board meeting; or
3) Submit written comments to the General Manager’s office (Business Administration Building A) delivered at least seven (7) days prior to the aforementioned board meeting.
Purpose of the Proposed Revisions
The proposed revisions to Club Policy CPo 102 – VGCC Board of Directors’ Code of Conduct are intended to strengthen and clarify the standards of conduct expected of Club Directors while serving on the Board. The revisions update Director responsibilities regarding fiduciary duties, individual Director authority, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, respectful conduct, and public communications. The proposed changes also establish an annual Director Code of Conduct acknowledgment requirement and provide procedures for reporting, reviewing, and addressing alleged violations of the Codde of Conduct in a manner consistent with the Club’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, governing policies, and applicable California law.
