Tuesday was our Captain’s Trophy Day, and several ladies came out to endure the heat and compete for a coveted trophy. Two ladies prevailed and deserve sincere congratulations. As all the scores came in it is apparent it was an extremely competitive day.

At the board meeting this week we discussed a few rules issues that came up during play. It is for fairness to all as well as the enjoyment of the game that Susie Q clarified a few rules that might speed up play and ensure we are all playing correctly.
On the Green
A great way to ensure everyone’s scores are correct is for each player to state what they are lying before anyone begins putting. It is much easier to correct any scoring questions at that point. Remember, it is everyone’s responsibility to help verify that scores are accurate.
Play the Ball as It Lies
We are now playing under normal conditions, which means the ball must be played as it lies. Improving your lie by moving your ball results in a two-stroke penalty. If you have any questions about this rule or any other rules, please do not hesitate to contact our Rules Director, Susie Q.
Marking Another Player’s Ball
If you are asked to mark another player’s ball, please be sure you have that player’s permission first. Once a ball has been marked, it is the player’s responsibility to ensure the ball is replaced in the correct spot before putting it.
August 25 is our Charity of Choice event and Pam Short has some fun planned for us all. There will be an Advantage Plan that can be purchased at sign in that will give your foursome four advantages, and the money goes directly to the charity. The format is a team shamble from the two tees.
