OK – we get it. Emergency Preparedness is not an exciting topic. It is approached by many as something that “may happen someday and I will worry about it then.” But that leaves you vulnerable, because preparation for that emergency can make a huge difference in managing to get through it safely.
With this in mind, EPC is going to make getting information easier for you. Everything you need to know is on the EPC website, sure. And articles run in The Villager with regularity. But we realize that many of you would prefer to just walk into a room and talk with an EPC volunteer to get information.
Now you can! EPC volunteers are willing to staff office hours one day a week for two hours in a pilot program, so that you can come by with your questions, pick up information, or get an OK sign. The SRS office has graciously agreed to share its office space with EPC.
Starting on September 1, on any given Tuesday between the hours of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., you can stop by the SRS office in Cribari and find out what Sector you are in, who your Sector Chief and Area Reps are (since they will be your primary resource), what should be in a Go-Bag and how EPC response works in an emergency – or ask us anything else that will help ensure your safety and that of your loved ones.
