The first day of September was a bit cold first thing in the morning. In fact, some of us didn’t warm up at all during the nine-hole round. That didn’t stop the following ladies from getting birdies: Laura Rodriguez #18, In Kim #18, Jay Lee #11, Lanette Carey #6, and Janelle Salvatierra #18. We also had the following chip-ins: Janelle Salvatierra #18, Laura Rodriguez #18, Jay Lee #12, Gloria Lowry #15, Cindy Herbert #12, and Anka Hoek #12. Congratulations to those ladies.
Speaking of congratulations, today was Captain’s Trophy, and on the front nine, Jini Kang won for her net 34 and on the back nine Insook Chang won for her net 33. Great job to our Captain’s Trophy winners for the month of September.
We have some fun events coming up this month. First, we have the Fall Foursomes Exchange on September 22. This is open to all members, dual and primary, of the 9-Hole Ladies Club and their guests. It’s one member driving one guest in their golf cart. The cost is $70 for a four-person team step-aside scramble, a grab-and-go breakfast, a build-your-own taco salad lunch, and cash prizes. Don’t know any guests? Sign up anyhow, and you will be paired, but sign up as soon as possible. As of this date, we already have 70. Register at www.womens9holegolf.vgcc.club. On Friday, September 25, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. we have our first Sip and Swap with complimentary wine and cheese being served at Foothill Center. Drop off your unwanted golf items in the bin at Gisele Barber’s house, 9043 Village View Loop, by Wednesday, September 23. Don’t forget to put your name on your bag of items. Remember, one lady’s items can become another lady’s treasure!
