Frequently Asked Questions

The Villager Mini

  • What is The Villager Mini?

The Villager Mini – Featured Events Edition is a fully digital publication that highlights upcoming events and activities at The Villages.

It is designed to complement the printed Villager by giving residents an easy way to see what’s coming up. The focus is entirely forward-looking, so it will not include event recaps.

  • Why are we launching The Villager Mini?

Our goal is to make it easier for residents to stay informed about what’s happening in the community.

    The Villager Mini will:

    • Provide timely event information during weeks when there is no printed Villager
    • Support a consistent flow of communication throughout the month
    • Increase awareness of clubs, programs and governance meetings
  • When will it be published?

Once launched, The Villager Mini will be published:

    • Every second and fourth week of the month
    • During fifth weeks when applicable
    • In weeks when there is no printed Villager

This means residents will have either a printed Villager or a digital Villager Mini available every week.

It will be released on Wednesdays.

  • How do I access The Villager Mini?

The Villager Mini will be available on thevillageronline.com .

  • Can I print it at home?

Yes. The publication is designed in 8.5 x 11-inch letter size so residents who prefer a paper copy can print it at home.

  • Will printed copies be available?

Yes. A limited number of printed copies will be available in staff business offices for pickup.

  • What kind of content will it include?

The Villager Mini is shorter and more focused than the printed newspaper. It is not a condensed version of the Villager, but a separate publication with a specific purpose.

The layout is planned to include:

    Front pages (1–2 pages):

    • Featured or “hot ticket” events
    • Important announcements

    Middle pages (approximately 2 pages):

    • Calendar of Events
    • Governance meeting listings
    • Clubhouse soups and specials

    Back pages (approximately 2–4 pages):

    • Upcoming Clubs & Events articles
  • Will there be classified and display ads?

Classified and display ads are planned for a future phase.

Players Card Program

  • What is the Players Card?

The Players Card Program is a limited-access program that allows non-members to play golf at The Villages Golf & Country Club. It is limited to 100 participants and valid for one year, renewable annually. Players Card holders have access to the 18-hole championship course, 9-hole par-3 course, driving range, and practice areas at competitive green fees, as well as Clubhouse dining. The annual fee is $3,500.

  • What is the age requirement for Players Card Holders?

Players Card Holders must be at least 30 years of age to be eligible for the program.

The program is designed for individuals who have an established interest in golf and can align with the standards and expectations of a private club environment.

  • Do Players need a referral from a Member to sign up?

No. Players Card Holders enroll independently. A Member referral is not required.

  • Will Players Card Holders have the same access privileges to amenities as Members?

No. The Players Card is not a membership. Access is limited to golf facilities and Clubhouse dining only. All other Club amenities, including pools and recreational facilities, are reserved exclusively for Members.

  • Will Players Card Holders have full access to tee times?

No. Tee times for Players Card Holders are subject to scheduling restrictions that prioritize member access. Tee times are reserved for members on Tuesdays through Thursdays until 11:30 a.m. Players Card Holders may not play during Men’s Club or Women’s Club tournaments.

Players Card Holders do not have access to tee time reservations through the Member Portal and must call the Pro Shop to schedule tee times. Reservations are available one week in advance (two weeks for members).

  • Are Players Card Holders limited in the number of guests they may bring?

Yes. Players Card Holders may bring up to a total of three guests per month. This total may be used across multiple visits or in a single visit (e.g., one guest across three visits or three guests during one visit), but may not exceed three guests per month.

  • How are Players Card Holders identified within the community?

Players Card Holders are issued a Player ID card that includes their name and photo for clear identification.

In addition, their vehicles are assigned a distinct barcode that differs from resident barcodes.

  • How will the Players Card Program benefit The Villages community?

The Players Card Program generates revenue that directly supports Club operations. At full enrollment of 100 participants, the program is projected to bring in approximately $350,000 annually. This additional revenue helps offset operating costs, which in turn helps moderate the rate at which Club dues increase over time.
